In 1869, Wyoming was the first place to let women vote. With only 20 members, they still passed the bill expanding suffrage to every woman that is 21 years old, or older living in their area of Wyoming. William Bright, after listening to his wife's perspective that all people should be able to vote, agreed to support the bill. |
