The Equal Rights Amendment:
The Equal Rights Amendment(ERA) was a big deal to women but it never got passed no matter the time extensions. Within the first year of ratification the Amendment got 30 states' votes, but there was a steep decline after that and no matter how long they had they couldn't get that first 30 up to the 38 they needed. People debated when the original amendment was passed that it wasn't really for women's rights, just for selfish reasons of men. Despite that it was important to women then, and now you can see it still is. There is a new ERA today and women are keeping up with trying to pass it but many people today still believe it is a joke.
American Birth Control League/Planned Parenthood Federation of America:
The organization for women's health and sex education began as the American Birth Control League and is known today as Planned Parenthood Federation of America(PPFA). This group hasn't changed much, other than becoming more popular. Today they have over 3 million patients and counting, and there is currently easier access to PPFA than ever before. People still continue to fight against them and attempt to tear them down, but like Margaret Sanger they are strong, independent women who are willing to fight and protest for their beliefs. Not much has changed at all for this organization and they clearly intend to keep it that way.
